The classical appearance of the hotel was soothing. I stayed in a room on the first floor with access to the garden. It was a quiet morning overlooking the spacious garden and Lake Ashi. I had a wonderful time.

I stayed 1 night here and enjoyed the meals and onsen. There is free shuttle to/from 元箱根港every 20min from 9:10 which helps a lot as I don't drive. Would like to stay longer if visit again Hakone.

This is my second time staying at this hotel. On the way there, the rain turned to sleet, so I arrived an hour early. I offered to wait in the lobby, but they allowed me to check in since my room was ready, which was very helpful. Afterwards, I enjoyed a cake set in the lounge and then headed to the public bath before dinner. For dinner, I had steak. It was delicious, but I regret not ordering the French course. It would have been nice if they had offered two more dishes, such as appetizers. There were many women traveling alone, so I thought it would be nice to enjoy a delicious dinner and the spa by myself. I like the atmosphere, even if you're traveling alone. After dinner and early the next morning, I took a dip in the hot spring, which left my skin feeling silky smooth. For breakfast, I chose Japanese food. Everything was delicious, and I had both rice and porridge. Since checkout was at 12:00, I enjoyed a walk in the garden, watching the wild birds, coffee in the lounge, and another dip in the hot spring. The hotel was quiet and comfortable throughout. Hakone is easily accessible from Tokyo, and I was able to relax and forget about my daily life, so I would like to stay here again. Next time, I would like to enjoy a French course meal with wine.
