Our flight in Fort Lauderdale was canceled, next available was in Miami the next day. Booked this hotel from expedia because of the reviews and it did not disappoint. Did not know what to expect when we arrived and because of the flight cancellation our moods were soured. Check in was painless and when the receptionist learned of our travel issues she upgraded our room immediately brightening our moods. The room was awesome, the bed was super comfortable, the rain shower was excellent and the wifi was fast. Plenty to do around the hotel, can't wait to stay here again sometime.

The hotel is very accommodating- the staff are nice and helpful. My balcony door wouldn’t lock and the shower smelled of mildew. I got a new room and the dead bolt didn’t work. I didn’t feel safe. The hotel is not yet a Marriott in anyway. They really need an upgrade of everything. I didn’t like the hotel or vibe and wouldn’t stay here again but I did love the staff and how helpful they were.

This place is going downhill quickly. We stay in Miami a few times per year as a hub to get to the Caribbean and Central/South America. We alternate staying at different Marriott properties just to change it up. We stayed at the Dua for the first time last year, and had a pleasant enough experience. This time, everything was just lacking. Our room didn’t have AC and we weren’t offered another room to switch to or any other solutions. We had to leave by 5 AM for a flight so we couldn’t move hotels in the middle of the night. On top of that, the restaurant food quality and flavor has dropped significantly. We won’t be back. We will stick with the W or JW
