We arrived at this hotel and immediately wanted to leave after seeing the room. The smell — which is already mentioned in several other reviews — was overwhelming the moment we walked in. We thought we would give it a chance, but there was absolutely no way we could sleep there, especially since we were traveling with a small child. The odor was intense and disturbing, possibly from insect spray or mold treatment, which would explain what we saw next: the walls were covered in mold. When we pointed this out, staff claimed “it was just peeling paint,” which is honestly insulting — as if guests cannot tell the difference between paint and mold. In one area, the mold was even coming loose and left black residue on the bedsheets. The sheets were changed in panic after I immediately noticed it, even though we had already said we would not be staying in the room. On top of that, the supposedly clean white sheets contained visible pests — several dead ants and insect eggs — which likely explains the strong chemical smell in the room. The only positive point was the receptionist, who was very kind and clearly had dealt with this situation before. He apologized sincerely and said he understood our concerns. He contacted the manager to request a free cancellation, but the manager initially refused to refund us. Only after we clearly stated how unhygienic and unhealthy the room was — and mentioned that we were taking photos — did the manager finally agree to cancel our stay without charge. We are relieved we were able to leave without financial loss, but we feel strongly compelled to warn future guests, especially families with children. The conditions were unhygienic and unhealthy, with mold covering the bedroom walls. This is absolutely not acceptable.
