This is the first time I've arrived at a 5-star L hotel and received no welcome whatsoever: I wasn't shown around, no amenities were described to me, and I wasn't even escorted to the elevators. I was given the key and told to take the elevators, which I would find in the lobby, first straight ahead and then to the right. There was no information about breakfast (I had to ask the next day about the hours and where to go). When I asked to be shown where the gym was, I was given hasty verbal directions. I should also add that I had booked a certain type of room, and was told I had received an upgrade, while I remain convinced that I was given a smaller room than the one I had booked (the feature was the presence of a sort of sitting area, which in my case was absent). For the return trip, I had booked a taxi boat, I was a few minutes late and was rudely told, "Oh, ma'am, you're late, the taxi is waiting, now you have to pay the penalty." No problem paying a penalty, but the customer service approach is different. Lack of communication between the restaurant and reception: I had to fill out the billing information three times. The facility is beautiful, but the service, while friendly, is seriously lacking. No interest in the customer.
