I stayed here on January 4th. After checking into a hotel close to Isawa Onsen Station, I strolled to the station. All the rooms were fully booked, and only a Japanese-style room was available, so I reserved that. Check-in was at 2:00 p.m. We were able to check in and be shown to our room early. The private family bath was free for 50 minutes, and cocktails were free from check-in until 5:00 p.m. The Japanese kaiseki cuisine, hot springs, and convenient location made for a comfortable stay right at the start of the new year. 😄👍

I stayed on New Year's Eve. I was glad that check-in was at 2pm and check-out was at 11am. The facility as a whole is old and showing signs of aging. The tatami mats were frayed and stains were obvious. Futon mattresses were laid out at check-in, so the visible tatami area was small, which was a bit of a concern. The food was delicious, but if the rice was mixed, it would have been better if it was served to guests rather than cooked individually at the table. The room's soundproofing was poor, and I could hear loud conversations in the hallway, as well as the noise of trains. There was a lot of condensation on the windows, which made it difficult to see the first sunrise of the year in the morning.
