Hotel Harmony by Aycon

We stayed at the Hotel Harmony in September as part of a group tour and subsequently booked a few extra nights. We travel a lot and can say with absolute certainty: it's one of the cleanest hotels we've ever visited! During our week and a half, we got to know all the staff, and everyone—from the hotel manager to the waitstaff, the housekeepers, and even the maintenance man—was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Sometimes we had to resort to gestures, but the hotel manager and the waitstaff spoke many languages, including English. We had a very nice, tastefully but subtly decorated suite with a south-facing balcony overlooking the restaurant. The rooms are soundproofed, and our suite had two air conditioning units. The bedroom faced east. We found the large single blanket a bit bothersome, so we asked the housekeeper for another one, which she promptly provided. A couple in our tour group also had a problem with a musty smell in the bathroom, but this is a typical issue on the Adriatic coast that occurs during periods of high pressure. Solution: one room higher up. Breakfast was varied; I especially loved the fried zucchini, the polenta, and the fresh mini pastries. I found it phenomenal that the scrambled eggs here are still made with real eggs, unlike all the German hotels that use instant egg powder. I hope you never change that! The pool was cleaned several times a day by the caretaker. It's small (as you can see in the pictures), but very refreshing after a long hike. I love the huge, old olive trees by the pool. Minor complaints and suggestions for improvement: The coffee from the machine wasn't very good, but that seems to be typical for the region. Serving ice-cold red wine straight from the fridge is unacceptable. Our group dinner wasn't good (the chicken was very dry), but it seems to have been catered. The group concluded from this that the food at the hotel might not be very good in general. We tried it anyway and found the food to be very good! Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't have its own private beach. The prices for sun loungers from vendors along the promenade are exorbitant. However, there are several small, free beach areas, though you have to look for them. Tips: For shopping, I don't recommend the small shop by the large staircase in the alley below the hotel. Instead, search for "Voli" on Google Maps; it's a supermarket chain, and there are two stores within walking distance of the hotel. You can buy fruit and vegetables cheaply at the market (near the post office) or from the greengrocer. If you want to dine really well, head to the picturesque "Pinus Maritimum" (turn left, right, left again when exiting the hotel, then follow the road past the greengrocer, football field, police station, children's playground, and barrier). The sun loungers are also a bit cheaper on the beach there. If you love exploring abandoned places, Montenegro is the perfect destination. From the hotel, you can also walk south along the beach promenade. You then pass through a very long tunnel to a small bay and are greeted by a breathtaking view of a hotel, complete with abandoned construction equipment and cranes. Spectacular! The bay is great for free swimming, but the café there is not recommended. From there, you can take the steep path uphill to a monastery with interesting, very old frescoes (Rezevici). There's also a huge abandoned site near the hotel, but fortunately, you can't see or smell anything of it. For history buffs: In the center of Petrovac, hidden behind a private parking lot, lies a Roman fresco. Directions can be found on Google Maps (rimski mozaici). Unfortunately, not much of it remains. Excellent value for money. We highly recommend the hotel and will definitely return!

I spent a week here as part of a group tour. The room was okay, although the bathroom had a slightly musty smell. It had roller shutters, blackout curtains, and air conditioning. Contrary to expectations, it even had a small south-facing balcony. However, this also meant that during restaurant hours (7:30 a.m. to midnight), the loudspeaker by the pool was constantly playing, so you were subjected to the noise during the day on the balcony and at night while sleeping with the windows open. It became even more disturbing on the last night when family members of the hotel owners partied there until well after midnight. The pool barely deserves the name – you could swim across its length in four strokes. As a single room guest, I had only one large duvet. I heard from travelers sharing a double room that they had to make do with one duvet and sometimes didn't receive a second one even after asking, although none of them were partners. I found the breakfast perfectly adequate, although the cheese selection could be more varied. Some of the dishes on the dinner menu are cheaper and—depending on the dish—tastier than in nearby restaurants. The service is okay, and they accommodate special requests for food intolerances; arrangements can be made.

A lovely small boutique hotel with a peaceful atmosphere. The pool area is well designed with natural shade as well as parasols. Rooms are comfortable and modern; we had a ground floor room with direct access to the pool area through our own little shaded and private terrace. The whole place was always immaculately clean. Food – we went B&B with a wide choice of breakfasts, always a hot option as well as the breads and pastries, fruits etc. We never went hungry! We did eat in for dinner a couple of nights, they offered a couple of special menus every night, simple food but well cooked and decent sized portions, served at tables by the pool, subdued lighting etc. Staff – two alternating bar staff/waiters, polite and efficient. And two receptionists who seemed to do almost everything else – they were great, friendly, polite, efficient, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for them, a real pleasure to deal with. Location – it’s a 2-300m walk to the waterfront, but that means the hotel is in a quiet location with very little noise and sheltered by trees from adjoining properties. Would I stay here again? Absolutely!
