Hotel Harvest Kinugawa

This is my second stay at this hotel using a shareholder benefit. The first time was in the summer, and this time I stayed for one night on a weekend in November. It's conveniently located within walking distance of the nearest Tobu World Square Station. However, there are hardly any restaurants around the station, so be careful if you're staying just for the night. The service from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff in the large bath was excellent and made for a pleasant stay. In particular, I saw the same staff member who tidies up the changing rooms in the large bath several times as I went to bathe at different times, so I got the impression that they are assigned to clean very frequently. They don't seem to be overly concerned with cleaning, but rather move around quietly and discreetly so as not to disturb guests, which I thought was great. The staff member happened to be there as I was leaving the large bath, so I thanked him for keeping it clean and for allowing me to use it comfortably. This time I only had the buffet for dinner. The food was neither good nor bad, but I would say it was generally tasty. There was a wide variety of cold appetizers, and the fact that they were served on small plates helped prevent food waste, which I thought was great. Personally, I'm not a big eater, so I didn't feel the selection was limited overall. The pumpkin (or was it corn?) chawanmushi and takikomi gohan (seasoned rice) were delicious. The roast beef was a bit stringy and tough, maybe because it was the day I was there, but... The nigiri sushi was pretty average. For dessert, they made the Mont Blanc for you on the spot. It was average. 😆 The last time we stayed, we had a room with tatami mats and a bed, but this time, we were staying with three people, and one of the rooms had a sofa bed. The front desk instructed us to remove the sofa cover and bring a futon from the closet and cover ourselves. It wasn't too uncomfortable to sleep in. It's fairly close to Tokyo, so I'd like to stay again.

It's located near Tobu World Square Station. It's on the opposite side from World Square. My thoughts on the bath: The large public bath is on the first floor, below the lobby. There's also a family pool and foot bath, and you can move around in your pajamas. There are 13 washing areas, and the showers are the latest Leafa model with a pleasant, fine water flow. The shampoo is the typical Pola commercial type. They also offer heel rubs, horse oil, and other trial products, which are common in hot spring resorts. The indoor bath is spacious and offers hot water, a jacuzzi, a sitting bath, and a reclining bath. The reclining bath, located in the back, has a perfect position for resting your neck. It was autumn foliage season, and there were maple leaves in the water in the open-air bath. The mountainside on the opposite bank of the Kinugawa River was beautiful and charming. As was the case with Harvest in Nasu, I wonder if hotels located along the river have the same structure. The sauna was impressive. They had both dry and mist baths, and the cold water bath was around 18 degrees, so the temperature difference was just right and very pleasant. The mist sauna had water falling from the ceiling like heavy rain, and it felt like I was throwing myself into warm tropical rain. The water is a simple alkaline hot spring. It is heated and diluted, but it didn't bother me. Since I stayed on a national holiday Monday, it wasn't very crowded, so I was able to take a bath four times: twice in the evening and twice in the morning. It was a very relaxing bath. Meals were buffet style for both breakfast and dinner. The alcoholic beverages ordered separately were a bit pricey, with draft beer costing 1,320 yen. I think the all-you-can-drink option was 2,750 yen. It's certainly a good deal, but the time limit was 90 minutes and I'd already eaten my fill, so I didn't order any. Each dish was delicious and I was pleased. The facilities are a little old, as it's been 33 years since the hotel opened, but it was clean, the room was spacious, and it was comfortable and I enjoyed my stay. I'd definitely like to stay again. By the way, the neighboring hotel, "VIALA Keisui," is an even better hotel with one Michelin star. I'd love to stay there someday.

These facilities and breakfast for this price. It's amazing. The view from the large window as soon as you enter is like a painting, and it seems like there are different things to enjoy in each season. Tobu World Square Station is the nearest station, but there is a regular shuttle bus to Kinugawa Onsen Station. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Nikko again!
