Hotel Hauser

I arrived at the hotel after a long walk from Central Station over the uneven cobblestone streets, worried that my carry-on would break. The entrance is a restaurant, but I decided to go in. A woman working at the restaurant inside asked me if this was a hotel. The hotel has friendly staff. I left my luggage with them in my room until check-in. My name and "Welcome" were handwritten on the message board. I felt so relieved. The room had an Arrietty-esque atmosphere, and I could feel the good taste and warmth of the staff. There was also a refrigerator, so I was able to store my drinks. I would like to go again. I recommend taking the underground passage from the station towards the square rather than going above ground.

We spent three nights at this hotel in December. We booked a comfort room, for which we paid a higher price. However, it later turned out that the pictures of our room shown during booking were actually for a standard room. In other words, the comfort room was used as a sample image for the standard rooms, which, in our opinion, is clearly misleading. The room itself was generally in decent and clean condition. While the curtain was damaged, and it was noticeable that the hotel is showing its age, this was evident in the very thin doors: conversations in the hallway, noises from neighboring rooms, and even a simple cough were clearly audible. As a result, the noise level was unfortunately quite high. Nevertheless, the sleeping area itself was clean. The condition of the bathroom was considerably more problematic. It was visibly dirty, with heavy limescale deposits in the shower cubicle, dirty grout, and damaged tiles. Additionally, the lower part of the door frames was clearly damaged. It was obvious that this damage had been present for some time. Overall, the bathroom appeared very neglected. We brought the condition of the bathroom to the staff's attention twice. We were simply told that the problem was known and would be resolved soon. However, no improvements were made during our entire stay, nor were we offered any compensation. Therefore, the stay was unfortunately not as satisfactory as we had hoped. Friendliness alone cannot compensate for the lack of cleanliness, the poor soundproofing, and the misleading room description. Nevertheless, we would like to thank you for your hospitality.

What a cute little hotel. The rooms are super nice and have everything you need. Only downfall is no elevator and if your suitcase is heavy you have to carry it up. They do offer to help at reception. The location is amazing though and you are bang slap in the centre beside the main shopping streets, restaurants and the old part of town.
