Hotel located in a popular tourist area for hiking. Near Mount Cook. It houses the Edmund Hillary Museum. It's not a quiet hotel. Somewhat noisy. Perhaps too crowded.

stayed at this hotel recently and unfortunately my experience was disappointing. First of all, there is construction going on in the hotel, which creates noise and makes the atmosphere less relaxing. Initially, I was given a room with a sea view, but it was located very far from the main area of the hotel. I asked if it was possible to move somewhere closer. Eventually they offered me a “renovated” room that was supposedly better, but it was almost twice as expensive and I had to pay extra for it. The biggest problem was that the room had a very strong and unpleasant smell, which made it quite uncomfortable to stay there. Overall, the hotel does not feel like a 5-star property. In my opinion, it is closer to a 4-star hotel at best.
