My stay at the Hakone Gora Indigo Hotel was a very pleasant experience overall. The environment was lovely, and the surrounding area was relatively quiet and relaxing. The hotel is not far from Gora Station and offers shuttle and drop-off services, making it very convenient to get to and from the station, and carrying luggage wasn't too much of a hassle. The hotel's decor and atmosphere were very tasteful. The attention to detail in the design of the lobby, corridors, and public spaces was evident, making me feel relaxed and comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and responsive, and communication was smooth, further enhancing my stay. Hakone has a private onsen (hot spring bath) in the room, which was one of the most anticipated parts of the trip. Relaxing and unwinding in the onsen was incredibly enjoyable. Unexpectedly, the public onsen area is mixed-gender, so you need to wear a swimsuit, haha. However, the hotel provides swimsuits for loan, so don't worry if you didn't bring one. The breakfast was quite good. While it wasn't a huge buffet, the quality of each item was excellent. The biggest surprise was the barista brewing and creating latte art on-site – a big plus in the morning. The gym was spacious and clean, with primarily cardio equipment. The selection of weight training equipment was limited, which might be a slight disappointment for serious weightlifters, but it was sufficient for maintaining an exercise routine while traveling. Overall, it was a very pleasant accommodation experience, perfect for those who want to relax with a hot spring bath and enjoy a stylish space. I would definitely consider returning next time I'm in Hakone.

Location is right by the river and rooms with private onsen. You can also have foot bath in public areas which is right on the water side. Variety of food options for vegetarians in breakfast buffet. I wish they had similar options in dinner as well.
