Reception staff were dismissive and inattentive. When I asked about visiting the rooftop bar, I was made to feel like a nuisance, while two ladies of south asian origin were visibly more interested in their phones and food rather than assisting guests.

Do not recommend! I have formally raised a complaint regarding our stay however they think putting a few points on my IHG account is enough and it isn’t! We stayed on New Year’s Eve 2025 for one night. A family of 3. Had our booking not been non-refundable, we would not have stayed. Our New Year’s Eve and anniversary were completely ruined due to repeated service failures, broken promises, and unprofessional behaviour by staff. Prior to arrival, I had been in communication with Kostas from Guest Relations, who confirmed that we would be allocated a room on the 8th floor with a balcony and a view of the New Year’s Eve fireworks, suitable for myself and my disabled guests. I reconfirmed these arrangements again on 27 December. Upon arrival, none of these commitments were honoured. Instead: • We were allocated Room 610 on the 6th floor, with no balcony and no bed made up for our son. • We were informed that our originally allocated room on the 8th floor had been given to another guest who extended their stay, and that “nothing could be done,” despite us having paid specifically for that room. • We were told on arrival that all rooms were sold out. Additionally, we were unexpectedly required to pay a damage deposit that was never disclosed at the time of booking, which was both frustrating and unacceptable. We had also been clearly told prior to arrival that payment could be made in cash. However, on arrival this was refused, and we were forced to pay by card, leaving us short of funds. To make matters worse, staff made sarcastic and patronising remarks, questioning why we had an issue paying by card simply because my partner was wearing a hat with the word “bank” on it. This behaviour was deeply unprofessional and offensive. Customer service throughout our stay was appalling: • Staff were rude, dismissive, and unhelpful, making us feel like an inconvenience. • We were not told where our room was located and had to guess using the lift. • There were no basic courtesies such as welcoming us or wishing us a pleasant stay. • Staff appeared more concerned with their mobile phones than assisting guests. As this stay was also our anniversary, we were promised a bottle of Prosecco and a celebratory platter. When I asked on arrival, I was told it would be delivered later. By 7:00 pm, nothing had arrived, so I contacted reception, only to be told that: • There was “no such platter,” • They did not know why Guest Relations would promise this, • And that nothing would be provided. Later in the evening, our room became uncomfortably warm. We requested a fan and were: • Hung up on three times by reception staff claiming they could not hear us, • Promised a fan within 20 minutes after my son went to reception, which never arrived. We also had to call three times to request extra pillows, which again never came. At one point, a member of staff suggested we attend the New Year’s Eve party on the top floor at a “discounted” price of £100 per person, reduced from £400, as a gesture of goodwill. This was completely inappropriate, especially as: • We had previously been told the event was sold out, • We did not have formal wear, • And we were still being asked to pay for something we did not want to attend. I attempted to raise these issues directly with the hotel, but they were never properly addressed. I was also unable to speak to Kostas as promised, despite being told he would contact me between 2:00 pm and 3:00 pm. By 4:30 pm, no contact had been made, and later I was told he had left due to a family emergency. I do not stay here! I’m now trying to fight for my deposit back!
