I spent about a week in October 2025 at this now somewhat dated hotel (built in the 1960s). Check-in/Cyclist-Friendliness: Upon arrival, I was greeted by an incredibly friendly elderly lady at the reception desk who made a great effort to communicate with me in German. I was able to check into my room well before the stated check-in time at no extra charge. Upon arrival, I also received a welcome drink of my choice at the bar. I spent the week at the Iris with a rental bike, and without notifying the hotel beforehand, it was no problem at all to take my racing bike to my room. Even after returning from tours, the (sometimes dirty) bike could always be parked at the reception desk and was under constant surveillance. Room/Elevator: The room was very large and equipped with most of the necessities (hairdryer, air conditioning, TV, safe, etc.), but unfortunately, there was no refrigerator. The elevator is a bit too small to transport a bike, but it works upright. Breakfast: This is very plentiful with a wide selection of delicacies. For the last three days of my stay, I received a voucher from the Iris to have breakfast at another nearby hotel, and this breakfast was even better in terms of selection... ;) Location: Excellent, about 70 meters from the beach (Balneario 1) and directly across from a supermarket, close enough to bike rental stations and far enough away from Balneario 6. Those interested in the latter can reach places like MegaPark and Bierkönig within 15-20 minutes on foot from the hotel. Check-out: It was no problem to store my luggage for several hours in a designated locked room after check-out. The friendly lady at the reception finally said a warm goodbye with a hug and kisses on the cheek upon my departure ;) Conclusion: The hotel offers a very homely atmosphere, especially due to the incredibly friendly and accommodating staff. During my stay, there was very little going on at the hotel, but that's exactly how I like it. The hotel is only partially geared towards cyclists, but they make every effort to make the stay as pleasant as possible for cyclists. I didn't miss anything and felt almost at home.
