HOTEL KOGURE

We stayed at this hotel with our young child. Upon arriving in the lobby, our child was thrilled to find a kids' play area filled with toys! We were able to check in while our child played, sitting on a sofa beside them. We were also offered a variety of welcome drinks. We were told we could have them anytime until 6 PM and even take them back to our room! It was a wonderful service, especially after a bath! Everywhere we looked in the hotel, it was clean and stylish. Normally, with hot springs, you expect some deterioration of the bathtubs and other facilities due to the mineral content of the water, but we were impressed by the meticulous maintenance of the large public bath here. Furthermore, the stunning mountain views during the day and the beautiful lighting in the bathroom at night allowed us to forget about reality and refresh ourselves. We stayed in a Japanese-style room in the Sansuitei building. It had an open-air bath, two sinks, and even a ReFa hairdryer – a truly luxurious room! The amenities included tabi socks, which were very useful after a bath. The TV was large, and with an account, we could connect to Netflix and other services, so our child wasn't bored. Dinner was a semi-buffet. It was a perfect blend of kaiseki cuisine and buffet, sure to satisfy everyone! The breakfast buffet was also incredibly luxurious; I was so full I wanted to eat more! The food was delicious, of course, but I was particularly impressed by the sweetness of the tomatoes and apples. The apples were labeled as being from Numata, and even though I'm a Gunma resident, I was surprised to discover how delicious they could be. The hotel also had a spacious footbath, complete with towels and cushions. I enjoyed the hotel completely from check-in to check-out without even leaving the premises. I didn't want to leave! The staff were all incredibly friendly and attentive, like Disneyland cast members – truly a wonderful hotel. This was my first three-generation trip with my mother and child, and it created truly wonderful memories. Even now, several days later, I'm still basking in the memories. I will definitely visit again!

I've visited many times, but it's been renovated and is now very beautiful. I was able to spend a truly relaxing and blissful time. The staff maintained a comfortable distance, neither too intrusive nor too distant, and the food, which made use of local seasonal ingredients, was visually stunning, with each dish being a pleasant surprise. The open-air bath with its sense of freedom and the opportunity to soak while enjoying the scenery was the ultimate luxury. The price is also reasonable, making it a top-class inn in every respect. I will definitely visit again in a different season.

When I was unsure which hotel to choose for my first trip to Ikaho Onsen, I decided on this one after seeing it recommended on social media. I wanted to leave my suitcase, so I went to the reception, and they immediately checked me in and took care of my luggage. They gave me detailed explanations about the welcome drink and elevators, which was very helpful. However, the uphill walk to the hotel was quite steep! Even after checking out, they drove me to the bus stop, which I really appreciated.
