Hotel L'Approdo

SHACK I stayed at this property between the end of February and the beginning of March. We arrived, checked in, and went to our room: there was a nauseating smell of smoke. When we opened the windows to air out, we noticed that the floor hadn't been cleaned and was covered in dust everywhere. We went to the bathroom and the fixtures weren't clean: they were covered in dust and had a yellowish color. We then went to the front desk to complain, and fortunately, the property was half empty, so they changed our room. In the other room, in addition to the dust problems (it wasn't clean either), it was freezing cold: the air conditioning was broken, and we couldn't turn on the heat. We asked for a blanket and were told they didn't have any. The room was about 15-16 degrees Celsius. We later discovered that there was a hole in the wall in the bathroom, allowing all the cold air from outside to come in, making the room freezing. I slept in a sweatshirt and pants because of the cold. My partner developed tonsillitis, and I developed a cold. In the morning, we complained and were treated like idiots by the staff. We ran away, and luckily, thanks to the assistance of Booking.com, we were able to get a partial refund. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEMOLITIONAL PROPERTY FOR YOUR HEALTH. Furthermore, in the morning, we were awakened (not that we'd slept much due to the cold) by workers using a drill. Pieces of concrete and other material were coming through the windows, which didn't close completely, and we found dust and debris inside the room. It was the worst night of my life. I've stayed in many hotels and properties, but I've never seen such a hovel. STAY AWAY!!!! PS: The outlets didn't work, there were exposed wires, mold on the upper walls, and even blood on the walls. Cleaning probably hadn't been done since the days of the lira.

When we visited (February 2026), the hotel was undergoing renovations. Scaffolding was in front of the room window, with pieces of concrete inside. The reception staff greeted us kindly and were very concerned. I would improve the cleanliness of the room.

A quick trip to Brindisi for work, and just needed a night's sleep. I also needed a very low budget, and this hotel was really cheap on Booking. Excellent: 24-hour concierge, central location just steps from the sea, late checkout at 11:00 AM, room with bathroom and windows, and Wi-Fi. The room size and furnishings were in line with the low price. More than satisfied.
