Dead in the heart of Tamarindo. Short walk across the street to the beach.

This place is a dive. The pictures make it look nicer than it is. It is centrally located, which is nice. It's right across the street from the beach. But it is NOISY!!! The windows and doors do not seal tight. You can hear a lot of traffic on the street. You can hear people's conversations. And the party on Sunday night went until 2 or 3 in the morning. Loud music, loud traffic, loud drunk people. We could not sleep. Then the sounds of traffic (especially motorcycles) starts up about 4:30a.m. We only got 2 hours of sleep that night. Monday and Tuesday nights the party wasn't as loud or for as long. We also found some earplugs and so slept better. The rooms are old and small. Our bathroom smelled like the sewer. We had to keep the door closed or it stunk up the whole room. Plus little bugs infested the bathroom, since the windows didn't seal tight. Also, the bathroom window is about 6 feet up. So someone over six feet could easily stand on their tiptoes and peer in at you while taking a shower. I showered in the dark with flip flops on. It just didn't seem really clean there. The pool is decent. The staff was nice enough. They did have beach chairs and boogie boards you could take to the beach. Parking is limited. We did not know you have to reserve in advance. We ended up double parking our rental car and leaving the keys with the office in case someone needed to leave. There isn't anywhere else to park, so be sure to let them know if you are bringing a car. There isn't an elevator so you have to drag your stuff up two flights of stairs. Overall we hated this place. I would NOT recommend.
