Had afternoon tea here for mother in laws 70th Birthday. Service was dreadful. On arrival lovely gentleman greeted us and directed us to the restaurant. We found our own table and sat ourselves down. A waitress then went through the afternoon tea menu. We chose to swap the ham and egg sandwiches for chicken and tuna. This was agreed. The trays arrived only to have ham and egg sandwiches on them? We informed the waitress who said she needed to speak to the chef. On here return she said she needed to take the ham and egg sandwiches back? Fine, no problem. We then had to pass her all the sandwiches from 3 different trays by hand! We then received our order. All rather odd behaviour. We are most of the sandwiches however one or two we not fresh and had started to go hard. The cakes were delicious though. We were asked if we wanted any further tea or coffee however, when it arrived there was no milk or sugar to go with it? Two paper sachets of sugar each and a tiny jug of milk? We sat there for around 30 minutes after we had finished with all the plates and cups & saucers until I got up and found someone who we could pay. It was advertised as ‘the best afternoon tea in Bournemouth’. I can categorically state that it is not. No table clothes, no napkins and utterly hopeless service. Very disappointed and we will not be returning. It is a shame as the location is excellent.

We just visit for lunch always lovely and staff are amazing . It's very easy for me to bring my elderly friend as it's flat and is disabled
