Unassuming world class hotel ticked away in the alley called Calle Iglesia. The rooms were super luxurious, the food and drinks were great, and most of all, exceptional customer service at the lobby, especially Hellen. I had a fallout with my gf and I need a ride to SJO airport. Hellen got me a cab and I was able to return to the States. I am grateful for the exceptional professionalism. 10 out of 10 recommended.

I don't understand the hype surrounding this establishment or the positive reviews. Check-in was chaotic, with an employee who introduced himself as someone filling in due to the absence of other colleagues: incomplete, haphazard, and contradictory information, especially regarding payment; he forgot to ask us for the license plate number of the rental car; he activated our room key for one night instead of five... In short, thankfully a more experienced colleague arrived later to process the payment. The room smelled damp and was sloppy, if not completely uncleaned: stains remained on the floor throughout our stay, for example. I squashed a cockroach on our second day in the room. The mini-fridge didn't work and wasn't even plugged in when we checked in. Despite the heat and humidity, there was only one key card to control the electricity, so every time you left your room, everything shut off. The room price was affordable, but still too high for the services offered by this place, which has many shortcomings. Finally, at check-in, I really didn't appreciate having to sign a waiver in case our belongings not in the safe were stolen. If your things are stolen and not in the safe, they claim it's not their fault and they disclaim all responsibility. Try putting your entire suitcase in a tiny safe... In short, it's ridiculous, just like the rest of the establishment.
