I booked a stay at Hotel Abadessa in Venice for two days and paid 430 €. The booking was under a non‑refundable rate, which I understood when making the reservation. However, the war in Israel made traveling impossible. This is a clear force‑majeure situation completely outside of my control. I contacted the hotel politely and explained the situation. I did NOT ask for a refund. I only asked for a very simple and reasonable solution: move the reservation to another date or provide a voucher for a future stay. Instead of showing even minimal understanding, the hotel refused. I also spoke with the manager, who said they would discuss the situation with the director and get back to me. After waiting two days, the final answer was still a refusal. Keeping the full payment from a guest who cannot travel because of a war, while refusing even a basic date change, shows an extreme lack of flexibility, empathy, and professionalism. Travelers should be very careful before booking here. If something unexpected or serious happens in your life, do not expect any understanding or assistance. Policies clearly matter more here than fairness or basic human decency. This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I have ever had with a hotel, and I strongly regret choosing this place.

The best hotel I've ever stayed in. Beautiful, clean, and chic. It offers breakfast and afternoon tea included in the daily rate, the hotel dates from the late 16th century, so you are immersed in history. The service is wonderful and the location is great, between the station and St. Mark's Square. Excellent, I would always return.
