Hotel Petit Bali Higashishinjuku - Adults Only

Petit Bali Higashi-Shinjuku was the most unpleasant hotel I've ever stayed in. I don't even want to give it a 1-star rating. I've often been to Balian hotels and had high expectations, but it was a complete disappointment. When we entered the hotel, paid in advance, and had our room number written down, another guest arrived. Customer: "Are there any rooms available for rest?" Staff member: "We have one Grace-type room available." The same conversation was taking place next to us. We paid the bill and went inside the room. The hotel had an open-air bath, and when we went there, it was less than half the size of what appears in the photo. There was no space to walk next to the bath, and it seemed like only one person could fit in at a time. The details said, "The room may differ from the photo," but it was disappointing to think that the size could be as much as half that. The photo showed two chairs, but there was no room for even one. There were two Grace-type rooms. This means that people who arrived after us without reservations got into the room in the photo. If they had arrived before us and been shown to the room, it would have made sense. However, I had heard at the register that a Grace type room was available, so I don't understand why a break room was prioritized over a reservation. Is it to attract repeat customers by taking a break? They said I could change rooms over the phone, so I checked out immediately and waited until just before 1 AM, then moved to another Grace type room. We checked in at 8 PM, so instead of 8 PM to 11 AM, we ended up staying in the room from 1 AM to 12 PM. Because we checked in just before 1 AM, the usual 11 AM checkout was changed to 12 PM. Apparently it was 12 hours. They said it was a service, but how is that a service? Maybe we were being selfish, but I was looking forward to it so it was disappointing. If you're going, I recommend not making a reservation, as it's a waste of money. I'll never go to Petit Bali Higashi-Shinjuku again, though.

This was my first time staying at this hotel on a solo trip. I found out about it on social media, and although it was a bit pricey for me, I was looking forward to it because it had a resort-like feel and the free services were amazing. Here are my impressions in bullet points: 1. Front desk service 2. Free drinks and food 3. The bed wasn't hard 1. Mysterious noises (constantly until I fell asleep, about every few minutes) 2. Not very clean 3. Noticeable scratches and wear on the furniture 4. The automatic toilet was broken (it just made a noise every time I went in) I can't sleep on a hard bed, and no matter how tired I am, I have trouble falling asleep, so I was glad that the bed wasn't hard, but then I heard a mysterious noise (bang! clang!) that scared me so much that I ended up not getting even three hours of sleep. If it weren't for that, points 2-4 wouldn't have been a big deal, so I would have given it 4 stars, but I'm giving it 2.5 stars. Looking back, I wonder if I should have asked the front desk.

I use it to spend the night with my boss. It feels like we're at a resort and we can relax.
