We stopped on our way to a later stop, booking directly the day before, trusting the published images and comments. We booked a double room and asked if they would allow our cat, which they accepted for a reasonable fee. We booked a four-star hotel and had no complaints about the agreed-upon price. They offered half-board, which we accepted to mitigate travel fatigue. Upon arrival, the very friendly receptionist showed us a two-room suite, but the bedroom with a window overlooked the adjacent provincial road. We noted that to avoid being woken up by the noise of vehicles, we would have preferred a quieter room. The staff then very kindly offered us the only available option, a tiny room for a four-star hotel. If we'd wanted a larger room, we'd have to pay extra on top of the already agreed-upon, rather than cheap, rate, since we'd opted for a "Classic" room and not a "Superior" room. Too tired to argue, we settled for it, but the surprises in the room didn't end there. After taking a shower, which seemed to have plenty of amenities but was actually poorly functioning, we discovered that the hairdryer provided was louder than a tractor, and that the air conditioning fan coil was just as loud, so we turned it off to sleep. We went to dinner, discovering that the seemingly delicious menu was actually aimed at foreigners who had little understanding of the meaning of a simple (tasteless) spaghetti with clams and swordfish in tomato sauce with French fries on the same plate. Breakfast was at least rich and satisfying, except for the coffee and cappuccino, which were only available from a vending machine. I'm sorry to have been disappointed.
