We arrived and the room looked dirty. There were cockroaches in the bathroom and the shower smelled like a sewer. We mentioned it to reception, and they only came to remove the cockroach, but the unpleasant smell remained. For the price, the bathroom facilities, especially, felt old and dirty.

Stayed here this weekend with my wife for a wedding. We checked in and promptly got our room, we always check for bed bugs, upon inspection one of our mattresses had a bed bug. We showed the front desk and they immediately moved us. We were very grateful, but it was almost like they knew the room may have had them. Our second room was infestation free. The rooms were nothing to write home about, semi-clean with hot water depending on the time you decide to shower. Our room did not come with a hair dryer or iron, but we asked for one and got one delivered. Food at the resort, was decent. We booked with a wedding and were supposed to get free breakfast with the booking code. When we tried to explain to the front desk, they said we didn't book with the code, when we showed them the correspondence, they said we had to pay. As a side note, the staff doesn't speak the best English (which I totally get) but when there are issues, things can get lost and potentially cost more. (I asked for a Herradura tequila at the bar and the bartender tried to serve me a Chardonnay.) Note: There are not a lot of Ubers around here, if you want to get around a taxi is going to be the move. However, it was a very nice walk into town (about 20 mins). Overall, this was fine for the price-point. But if you are looking for a luxurious getaway in a quaint Mexican town, I would look for something a little more high end.
