Hotel Riutort

The buffet was good. The rooms need updating.

We've been visiting Mallorca and stayed at this "3-star hotel," although in our opinion, it's a couple of stars too many and feels more like low-quality tourist apartments. - Positive: The dining room, kitchen, and bar staff were always attentive, and the reception staff were very professional, except for the "big" receptionist, who seemed a bit arrogant. The reception area and hallways were clean (that's all). - Negative: The rooms desperately need a deep clean. The bathroom, for example, is rather unpleasant, with dirty tiles and unsterilized fixtures. In nine days, the bed sheets weren't changed even once. It seems they just wait for a draft to blow the dirt out the terrace door—that is, if you get a terrace room, since initially they placed us in a room with a small, chipped window facing the building opposite, where you could practically hear the tenants inside. We tried not to touch the toilet directly because it looked disgusting; the brown stain was already permanently embedded in its surface. The dining room was fine until you approached one of the tables to eat, as stained and sticky tablecloths were the norm. They should machine wash or have those cloths laundered and disinfected, because using the same cloth for everyone just spreads the contents from one table to another. In the bar, there are game boards with their pieces and everything else, all desperately in need of replacement or cleaning; they're disgusting to use. The location. The hotel is in a noisy area about 400 meters from the beach, in what seems to be a neighborhood that's in economic and service decline. The promenade is a real challenge for the brave at sunset; pickpockets and filth make the area dangerous and very unpleasant. Arenal beach is immense, but at this time of year, it reeks of rotting seaweed. I think agencies should reconsider before offering this "hotel"; it's not worth it at all. 1/10
