Hotel Saint Georges Tunis

Honestly…it was Okay. I didn’t expect it to be, but it did the job. When I arrived in the evening the bar and restaurant attached were both absolutely full and I thought great I bet I have a room right above it…which I did, but the windows were pretty well soundproofed, so all the noise was nicely muted. So that’s good. It’s a pretty basic hotel but it was alright for me. The things I didn’t like were the room looked a bit moody, the shower wasn’t hot but just the hotter side of warm, and the mattress felt a little bit old - though saying that, I slept well that night, so I’ll give them that. I think do to it not being so noisey.

The manager insults the customers. Word for word, he says "bara nayek" without any shame, as if this kind of language were normal in a hotel. Unacceptable, vulgar, and aggressive behavior. The restaurant is no better: bad, undercooked, tasteless, and clearly of poor quality. The food is bad, and the treatment is even worse. Instead of apologizing or trying to improve the service, the manager raises his voice, shows contempt for the customers, and hurls insults. No manners, no professionalism, no respect. This establishment gives a very bad image of the hotel industry in Tunisia. I strongly advise against it: lack of respect, bad food, and a toxic atmosphere.

Our experience at this dinner was extremely disappointing on every level. It was a normal dinner, accompanied by a few beers—nothing excessive or inappropriate. Yet, as soon as we expressed our dissatisfaction with the quality of the food, the situation deteriorated. The dishes served were simply catastrophic: poor quality, mediocre taste, sloppy presentation, and completely unjustified by the price. Instead of a professional response or an attempt to find a solution, the manager adopted an aggressive and inappropriate attitude when we complained. Remarks were made to us that we clearly perceived as insulting. He insinuated that the Tunisian customers were drunk in order to discredit our comments and justify the poor quality of the food. This behavior is unacceptable, humiliating, and deeply disrespectful. We felt very clearly disrespected as customers, and even more so as Tunisians. There was no sense of service, no self-reflection, and no consideration whatsoever. Everything was blamed on the customers, never on the service itself. Ultimately, this experience leaves a strong feeling of having been deceived: high prices, nonexistent quality, and a manager's behavior completely unsuited to the hospitality industry. An establishment that acts this way seriously damages the image of tourism and does not deserve the trust of its customers. We absolutely do not recommend this place and advise future customers to be very vigilant.
