Hotel Santa Ana Tudela

It strikes the perfect balance of "minimal, but sufficient." The staff is friendly. It's warm. The only downside is that it's loud. I mentioned I'd be bringing my dog, and they were waiting for her, preparing bowls, a bed, a toy, and cookies. I've saved it as a staycation option, as it's very difficult to find a clean, safe hotel in this region that welcomes you and your pet. 👍

We had difficulty navigating the narrow streets with our large vehicle. The GPS sent us in circles several times. We finally parked in a spot nearby, looked around, but didn't see a parking meter or any other information. The next day at 10:15 a.m., a plastic bag containing a parking ticket was patiently waiting for us in the rain, stuck under the windshield wiper... Grrr... It was an €80 parking ticket issued at 10:00 a.m. for non-payment (MERRY CHRISTMAS, TOURIST FRIENDS... frankly, not cool for our first trip to Spain!). The hotel was renovated, lovely, comfortable, clean, and modern. Excellent bedding! The shower was great with good water pressure, perfect. Thoughtful touches like dispensers for shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. Large, fluffy towels. Friendly staff. A fantastic gift set for our dog! We had a major problem with the room lights, one of which kept switching on with its motion sensor. The LED light bar would activate as soon as we moved in bed. We had flashes all night, so unfortunately, we slept very little and poorly. We reported it to reception the next morning, who were already aware of the problem. We had an excellent dinner at the "Enriqueta By L&Ele" restaurant! Their warm salad to share was absolutely delicious. The staff were very kind and professional, especially the waiter with the thin mustache who took care of our table. We booked our room through Booking.com (more convenient and faster since we don't speak Spanish, and few people speak French). We received an access code to get into our room. Upon arrival, we were surprised to see a receptionist. We had to go through the check-in and payment process again to get a key card. We were finally able to settle into our room after hours of driving. We didn't know or understand if breakfast or parking facilities were available. And there were no warnings about the hefty fines. The next day, upon departure, we had to spend time at reception again, this time to pay the fee for our dog. We thought we had settled everything the day before. Everything should be done in one go: identity registration and payments. The key card should be issued quickly. Especially since, with the language barrier, we didn't understand. We think we might have been able to avoid paying the fine if we had left immediately after returning the room key card. HOTEL/RESTAURANT AND STAFF = SUPERB! Please address the issue of glare in the eyes when moving. When checking in and receiving the access card, offer information about breakfast and parking (if available), including the cost, terms, etc. Otherwise, warn guests about the €80 fine. Alternatively, provide printed information in the room in all languages about available options. A small tourist map would also be appreciated. For a 4-star hotel (without a jacuzzi, etc.), at least one bottle of water, a kettle, or a coffee maker in the room would be welcome. A shower curtain would also be helpful, as the toilet bowl is right next to the shower entrance and gets very wet after use. Thank you, and Happy Holidays to everyone!
