A good social project, a decent youth hostel, a hotel in need of a complete overhaul. The hotel is a huge public housing complex, remodeled with a bit of colorwashing (they added some colorful accents to distract the eye) in a fairly run-down suburb. As soon as you enter, you're hit by an overwhelming, constant stench of spices and curry unlike anything you'd find in Mumbai. The building isn't dilapidated, but it's certainly not sophisticated in any way. Functionality is clearly the sole focus, rendering the entire place nothing more than a youth hostel for a few traveling kids. Furthermore, though this isn't advertised on the various online booking sites, the building hosts social housing, meaning that some floors are dedicated to housing people who can't afford alternative housing options (if I understand correctly). It's certainly a very multicultural environment, but perhaps a bit too much of a reception center vibe than a melting pot. Furthermore, the room was supposed to have a double bed, but instead had two singles pushed together, a refrigerator that—even though it was never opened—started humming so loudly that it had to be unplugged, and furniture that would be too basic to call spartan. Ultimately, all this stuff is fine, but the nature of the place and the offer should be more clearly stated (a double room still cost €96 for one night, not the cheapest option in the area). Positives include the friendly staff, a good breakfast, and covered parking for about €5 more. As I said, I think it's an interesting social project, but its hotel-like nature needs to be completely reconsidered. I certainly wouldn't return.

The rooms were absolutely squalid. In the bathroom, when you turned on the bidet faucet, the water came out yellow, and there were also cockroach traps. Unfortunately, we only realized this in the morning, otherwise we would have left that evening. Needless to say, we woke up that morning to find a cockroach in our room. The hotel in general is absolutely squalid and feels like a psychiatric hospital. I have no complaints about the staff; they were all extremely polite and kind. But I wouldn't go back to this place for dear life.

The enormous structure houses rooms for both vacationers and social cooperative projects. What stands out is the extremely welcoming and friendly front office staff: polite, always smiling, and helpful. The elevators were a bit of a hassle in the morning, but otherwise it was a good experience.
