Hotel Siena

I live overseas, and while many hotels are double or triple the price, I wanted to keep costs down, so I decided to take the plunge and book this hotel, which happened to be in the 10,000 yen range. I was expecting it to be in the middle of Kabukicho and have a bad reputation, but it was a very normal hotel, in a good way. The female staff who assisted me were also very kind. I think there is demand for it as a nightlife district, but it would also be fine for a business trip. I actually like it because it feels like a hidden gem

We stayed in a non-smoking double deluxe room at Hotel Siena. It was comfortable for two people, and while the room was a bit cramped, it was cozy. The location was perfect, just a five-minute walk up the street from the Shinjuku Ward Office. Shinjuku Station and Shinjuku Sanchome Station were within walking distance, making it easy to get around. There's a Ministop, 7-Eleven, Family Mart, and Lawson nearby. Kabukicho is right behind the hotel, so there might be some noise in the early morning hours. Honestly, I can't give the room a good review. The interior was reminiscent of the 1980s or 1990s, with stains on the bed mattress and yellowing pillowcases. The room lacked ceiling lights and was lit by multiple lamps, making it a bit dim, but it still created a nice atmosphere. The provided bathroom amenities (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, gargle cups, etc.) seemed unclean or outdated. The toilet and bathroom were integrated, with a nostalgic faucet and plastic sink, reminiscent of those found in the early 2000s. The water pressure was excellent, and, true to its reputation as a bidet-loving country, a bidet was also installed, allowing for a comfortable bath. The room facilities were a bit dated, but the service was truly excellent. A unique feature of this place was the analog key system, requiring you to open and close the room, leaving your key at the front desk when you leave. The staff were always courteous, polite, and friendly. They were also very accommodating to my requests, which made my stay in Japan a pleasant one. However, while the staff said they could speak English and Japanese, it seemed like only a few spoke English fluently. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to those who prioritize cleanliness or room decor. However, the service was excellent, and the location, close to the station, made it convenient for exploring various places.

The location is good, it's cheap, and the room wasn't bad. However, the soundproofing is so poor that you can hear conversations in the next room, although you can't hear the content. Not recommended for light sleepers or people with sensitive ears.
