Hotel Stella Maris

It was our first time staying here, and we were very disappointed. We stayed for about 10 days, and when we checked in on the first day, the room was already dirty! There were cobwebs under the mahogany vanity. They said there was no soap in the bathroom because the kids would spill it and it would get stuck in the sink. Not to mention the breakfast and dinner service. Dirty glasses with streaks; I had to go several times to have them changed. The menu was quite meager and incredibly cheap. Many dishes were loaded with chili peppers or salt, and the buffet was very poor, offering the same selection almost every day. In 10 days, there wasn't a single day without gratinated tomatoes! Bread was recycled several times from the previous day's lunch or dinner. Even on the last day, the trolley where you went to get it was closed and full of flies that were flying around! The pastries for breakfast were recycled and cold (probably kept in the fridge to preserve them). The mat inside the drawer where the breakfast cups were placed wasn't filthy, it was worse. Every morning we had to check which cup was the cleanest and not touching it. In the first ones, they write "crab pasta" and stick their legs in a spit of crab meat. Two days ago, we ordered a stew, and the chef put so much chili pepper in it that it was inedible. The manager/owner, after asking why it hadn't been finished, turned the attention to himself, saying that "he eats like a dragon," as if we all have the same tastes! Furthermore, he himself played the piano late in the evening at 10.30/11.00 pm or in the early afternoon, I wonder "what if someone wanted to rest*? Flat drinks, even "sparkling" wine, we didn't know if the staff didn't know how to pour them or if they had been there who knows how long, the fact is that after a few days we were only going on still water! The only positive note is the beach, the pool and the location, the rest needs to be reviewed, especially the cleanliness!!

Well-maintained hotel and excellent location. Competitive and affordable prices. Suitable for those seeking peace and quiet without pretensions, which in my opinion are unnecessary on vacation. A big hug to the owners' mother. A small but important piece of advice to your children, grandchildren, and even the kids' girlfriends: listen to your mother/grandmother and make sure she's always proud of you. I've never succeeded, and now it's too late. Work hard without fear of getting tired. An extended family is a blessing only if you help each other. Hugs

We stayed at this hotel last week. The lobby is very nice, the rooms are spacious and clean. The mattress is very uncomfortable, and there's no closet, just shelves. The shower stall has a bidet! You have to go down early for breakfast otherwise you'll be left without anything. Lunch and dinner offer excellent and plentiful first courses, but the second course portions are small, and the self-service menu doesn't refill your trays! The atmosphere is very family-friendly, but the staff is inexperienced.
