Hotel Wersal

The entire building is beautiful, and the lobby area with the main reception is very lavish, and the underground parking is a big plus. We stayed in the adjacent, lower-standard section, and unfortunately, it's a throwback to a bygone era, desperately in need of renovation. 🙂 The doors are locked, there's noise from the hallway, and the curtains are probably a hundred years old and gray. The breakfasts might make up for this, but the service wasn't very friendly (I asked if I could bring my small dog in a carrier, which is very quiet and might bark alone in the room, and I could sit somewhere out of the way or in the lobby, but the lady rudely pointed out a sign saying it's forbidden). For a pet-friendly hotel, it's not very well-designed. Regular chains like Novotel, Ibis, or Mercure even have designated areas. I think this could be improved. Regarding the spa area, the steam sauna is a bit too brightly lit, and assuming it's fabric-free, it's a bit embarrassing when you can see everything. Limiting stays to three hours in the pool area is probably intended to discourage guests with children from hanging out there and make it less crowded, as the area is small and there are only seven loungers. The hotel has a good location, but there's room for improvement.

It was a short but very pleasant stay. The breakfast was rich, varied, and excellently served. The room was pleasant and comfortable. The location was perfect, close to the main street and easy to find.

I had a studio room on the third floor. It felt like I was in a spa. The hallway carpeting was turquoise and stained. The carpet in the room was similar. The sockets were loose, one was loose. The lighting was poor, and the room was very dark in the evenings, and there weren't many sockets in the room. For two nights, two people were given one small shampoo and shower gel, and a tiny bar of soap. The room amenities listed "radio"—there wasn't one. The curtain in the bedroom was falling off the curtain rod; it was already showing its age, as was the room and the stained carpet. We were given a few teas and sugar, and only when we asked for coffee at the front desk did they bring us a "coffee-like" product. Since we had a room at the Wersal Hotel (not the Bachleda Residence), the receptionist made me feel inferior. When we returned the keys, we weren't even thanked for choosing the hotel; they just accused us of owing money for unpaid use of the pool (which, incidentally, had cold water). The breakfasts were a plus, as were the waiters working at breakfast and in the restaurant in the evening (the same people). So, for one night, we paid over 700 złoty. I could have found a similar room (in the communist era style) in Zakopane for much less. But you learn from your mistakes.
