Howard Johnson by Wyndham Quincy/Boston

Called the hotel to make a reservation when reviewing the email they made it for the wrong location, had to call back and correct it. The towel bar, doorstop and mini fridge in our room were all broken. Brought it up to hotel staff was basically only offered an apology. The room was clean, tissue holder was empty. The view out of our room window was a brick wall 2 feet away from the building. The stay was $160, it realistically should’ve been a $99 night.

Let’s start from the moment you walk into the hotel. You walk in to an INTENSE smell of smoke. The woman who was at the front desk at our arrival was VERY kind and put us on the 2nd floor all the way at the end of the hall so the room seemed to smell better at first. As we were getting settled (around 10pm with a toddler) the smell seemed better here, until I turned the light on in the bathroom. It had maybe been on for 30 seconds and it was blowing the smell of the smoke from downstairs into our room. With a child and a spouse who has severe asthma and allergies, we had to use the bathroom without a light the whole time. When we arrived in the room and I looked around it was DIRTY. There was crumbs and what looked like road salt on the grungy chair in the room. There were dirty fingerprints on the wall. Streaks of paint on the walls. The rooms baseboards are so dirty and have huge gaps and the door is crooked doesn’t feel secure. The floor is SO GRIMY as if they don’t sweep, just mop over it all. My pillow smelled like someone else when I went to lay down, which of course makes you wonder, did they change our sheets?? My partner went to take a shower and the shower knob fell off in their hands and the sink drain is just sitting in the sink. Not in the drain. Our 2nd morning there, there were spiders crawling through our room on the floor. And the place is so dirty we questioned if it was a roach at first. As we were leaving I made them aware of this and there was a “sorry about that” but no reassurances it was going to get fixed and no compensation for having such a disgusting stay. We only stayed here because we had no choice this weekend, but never again.

They couldn't take my form of payment , which was a debit card , told me I couldn't have the room, yet stated that it was because of my payment , it would not go through from the credit card company that i'm using, yet still , before I walked out the door they said they were gonna charge me ninety dollars on the card that they supposedly could not use for me to rent the room. Left me out in the cold that night, which was 9°.And I cannot believe that they had the balls to say that they're gonna charge me $90 on the card they wouldn't accept in the first place.Get out of here!
