I want to give special recognition to Puja Cheteri, who is an absolute true gem. Her warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail went far beyond what I could have expected. Every interaction with her stood out. She anticipated needs before I even voiced them, offered thoughtful recommendations, and consistently ensured I was comfortable and enjoying my stay. Puja carries herself with grace and genuine kindness, the kind of hospitality that transforms a great hotel into an exceptional one. It’s rare these days to encounter customer service that feels both flawless and sincerely heartfelt, but Puja delivered exactly that. She exemplifies everything that world-class hospitality should be, and the Hyatt Regency Hakone is incredibly fortunate to have her on their team. The onsen, the food, the room, the views—all phenomenal—but it was Puja’s dedication and care that elevated the entire experience. Very American, overpriced food, limited Japanese influence in their living room catering and service style. Isolated location means you are ‘forced’ to use their in-house restaurants which don’t deliver on quality, value or culture.

Comfortable large room with a very comfortable mattress! The common areas are also very comfortable. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The free shuttle was a nice surprise and allowed us to easily get to a restaurant for dinner. The kaiseki dinner we had at the hotel was fabulous though and I highly recommend checking it out. One of the best Hyatts I’ve stayed at!
