After staying a few nights at this hotel, I’m only giving it 2 stars, and here’s why. First: the parking situation is absurd. This place isn’t in a true downtown, yet they charge $55+ per night for valet. Even worse, their own lot is basically empty—so it’s not like space is scarce. It feels less like “premium service” and more like a forced cash grab. I parked using SpotHero a block away for $10/day, which tells you everything you need to know about how inflated their pricing is. Second: the staff attitude is consistently rough. The valet workers were rude and acted annoyed that guests existed. The front desk team wasn’t much better—blunt, uninterested, and giving off that “not my problem” energy. Hospitality is literally the job. If the vibe is cold the second you arrive, it sets the tone for the whole stay. Third: the hotel has an over-the-top “card required for everything” setup, and it gets old fast. You need your key card for basic movement—like using the elevator—which would be fine if it actually made the property feel secure. But it doesn’t. There was a smelly homeless woman camping right outside the entrance, and nobody seemed to do anything about it. So guests are inconvenienced constantly, while the actual issues are ignored. Make it make sense. Then there are the “amenities,” which are hit-or-miss in the worst way. The pool isn’t reliably heated, and during my stay a worker was power-washing around it, spraying water everywhere like it was a maintenance day in the middle of guest hours. The gas fireplace was broken, which is a small thing… until you realize it’s another example of stuff not being maintained properly. And the cherry on top: $3 bottled water in the room. That’s just petty. This is Texas. Water isn’t rare. Charging guests like they’re negotiating for basic hydration is a ridiculous look—especially when you’re already squeezing them for valet fees and forcing key-card access for everything.

Business stay. Clean and modern hotel. The food was good overall, though breakfast could have been better. The gym could also use a refresh — it would be great to see a Peloton bike added. Also not a fan of Keurig coffee machines; I’d much prefer to see Nespresso.
