Icon Hotel by Welkom

An exceptional experience.

My name is Diego. We stayed in the Deluxe Suite with a Jacuzzi at the Icon from February 9th to 14th, 2026. The Booking.com listing promised a "private pool," but what we received has nothing to do with privacy. The "pool" is tiny (approx. 1.5 x 1.5 m) and faces the common deck: other guests can see EVERYTHING and make a point of staring. My wife even felt embarrassed while showering with our 6-month-old baby in this "private" area. The listing also promised a "jacuzzi" that simply doesn't exist! It's actually the same "private pool." The jacuzzi part was out of order for an entire day (we had to request maintenance). The room space is cramped: to pass between the bed and the counter you (almost) have to walk sideways. The cleaning was also lacking: the room was cleaned, but the outdoor area next to the "pool" was left dirty and was only cleaned after we asked. The hotel restaurant is only redeemed by its breakfast. Lunch was a bad experience: even with the dining room practically empty, they wouldn't let us sit at a table overlooking the beach (they said "large tables" are only for larger groups). We ordered three dishes: octopus, fish with vegetables, and meat risotto. None were up to par: the octopus was overcooked, the vegetables were almost raw, and the risotto was hard and bland. After that first experience, we never ate there again. Despite being beachfront, the hotel is located at a quiet end with a dirtier sea, and it's not really "beachfront." If you want to enjoy the beach, you need to go by car (or Uber). Positive points: polite staff and good breakfast. Negative points: everything else described above. My recommendation: I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I expected much more, especially given the promise of "privacy" and the suite category. Terrible value for money!

I'm really very satisfied with everything the hotel offered in all areas, including the restaurant, both for breakfast and dinner. You have to visit it!
