It was the best stay as a remote island retreat experience. I booked after reading reviews saying the food was delicious, and it exceeded my expectations. This time, I had the teppanyaki course. Having the food cooked right in front of me felt special in itself. The chef's movements were beautiful as he prepared each dish, and each dish was a special experience enjoyed with all five senses. And best of all was the star of the meal: Iki beef. The moment I took my first bite, I couldn't help but exclaim, "It's so tender!" The fat wasn't too heavy, and it was sweet, melting in my mouth. It was definitely some of the best wagyu beef I've ever eaten, and honestly, I wanted more. The service was also incredibly pleasant. They were polite, yet natural and not at all manual. They were attentive throughout the meal, giving me the reassuring feeling that they were watching over me. When we talked about sightseeing, they shared local recommendations and I was happy to have such a unique island conversation. There are inns that serve delicious food, but I really feel that my satisfaction level goes up a notch when the service is also pleasant. Even now that I've returned, I still feel like I need to go back and eat Iki beef again. If you're looking to spend a little luxury time in Iki, I highly recommend this inn.
