In Gold Hotel & Spa

The hotel is acceptable, but honestly, I don't consider it worthy of its star rating. The room is quite simple, without any decoration—just the bed, two bedside tables, and a basic desk. The wardrobe is open, which gives a constant feeling of disorganization in the environment. Some details show a lack of maintenance: the bedroom and bathroom shelves were crooked, the walls were dirty and scratched, and the desk chair was peeling. There are also no regular curtains in the room, only blackout curtains, which, besides being dirty, are torn in one corner. This means that when trying to open them to let in light, anyone outside—including those in the building across the street—can see inside the room, significantly compromising privacy. Another negative point is that the hotel does not provide bathrobes or slippers, something one would expect from a hotel of this category. Towels are also limited: only one bath towel and one face towel per person. Considering the hotel has a swimming pool, it would be ideal to provide at least two towels per guest, one for the pool and one for showering. Furthermore, the bathroom towels were stained, and the sheets had a very strong bleach smell. The heated pool is outdoors, which makes access difficult as it requires leaving the building and climbing stairs. However, this information is indicated on the website, so it's somewhat expected. We booked through Odisseias and had free access to the pool, but those who book directly have to pay €15 per hour, in addition to paying separately to use the sauna or Turkish bath. Another point to consider is the soundproofing, which isn't very good. It's easy to hear people talking and passing by in the hallway. The television also only offers free-to-air channels, without other entertainment options. Among the positive points, I highlight the excellent location, which allows you to walk to several tourist attractions. The room has air conditioning and a hairdryer in the bathroom. The staff is friendly and the check-in process was quick and simple. It has Wi-Fi. Breakfast was also a positive point, with a wide variety of options. However, I believe the food should be kept protected in closed or covered containers, as there were some mosquitoes landing on the food. Overall, the stay was reasonable, but for the price and the hotel's rating, I expected a higher level of comfort, maintenance, and attention to detail.

The hotel is very poor in terms of service, especially right from the check-in process. Low standard of professionalism, lack of friendliness, and inability to solve problems. They will never be able to provide a pleasant stay experience. I would just like to point out that these professionals are the face of the hotel, as they are the first point of contact. For this particular hotel, it is extremely regrettable.
