Our experience with Villa Atlântico at InterContinental Cascais-Estoril was a complete disaster. They cancelled our wedding venue reservation less than three months before the wedding, without offering any real compensation. Our wedding was planned for February 21, 2026. On December 5, 2025, they called us to say they would be doing renovations from January to March and that our wedding could no longer take place there. It’s very hard to believe that these renovations were decided only a few weeks in advance. It honestly felt like our wedding was simply forgotten. During the call on December 5, we were told there would be no compensation at all. Only after we complained did they offer one free night at the hotel, which makes no sense since we live less than 30 minutes away. On top of that, our hotel reservation was cancelled without any notice. While we were still trying to find another wedding venue, we intentionally kept the hotel booking. When we later tried to cancel it ourselves, we found out it had already been cancelled — without a single email or explanation. There were several other issues as well: • Rita shared the contact of another venue that was already fully booked, without checking first. • Our contact details were shared with a third party without our consent. • The alternative spaces offered to us were very small and clearly unsuitable for our wedding. At that point, guests from abroad had already been invited, flights were booked, and the menu tasting was done. Being forced to start over so close to the date was extremely stressful. This is supposed to be a five-star hotel, but the lack of professionalism and basic communication was shocking. I wouldn’t wish this experience on any couple planning their wedding.

We stayed in between Christmas &the new year in room 219 which was a pleasant surprise that they had upgraded us to ocean view The staff where all nice and friendly & professional we had breakfast every morning it was really good & the staff was really helpful & we’ve stayed in a lot of really good hotels around the world we will definitely stay here again thanks to you all
