Comfortable beds and great breakfast, but severely let down by cleanliness and a negligent concierge While I adjusted my expectations before arriving and didn't expect a perfect 5-star experience, my stay at the InterContinental Malta was deeply disappointing, primarily due to a severe lack of attention to detail and a complete failure of customer care from the concierge desk. The Positives: The Bed: The bed was incredibly comfortable and provided a great night's sleep. The Breakfast: The morning buffet is fantastic—great variety, high quality, and a definite highlight of the stay. The Negatives: Room Cleanliness & Housekeeping: The room was both dirty and had a noticeable, unpleasant smell. Housekeeping was well below standard; my bed was never made neatly, my pajamas were simply left in a messy pile on the bed, and the supposedly "included" complimentary water was missing 4 out of the 5 days we were there. Spa/Sauna Facilities: The sauna is in desperate need of a renovation. It is completely outdated, dirty, and smells bad. Unacceptable Concierge Service (The Biggest Issue): On Tuesday evening 3.3.26, we asked the concierge to help us book a tour to Gozo, and he recommended a boat and Tuk Tuk tour. I explicitly informed him that I have had several back surgeries and expressed my concern about riding in a Tuk Tuk. He assured me it would not be a problem. He was entirely wrong. The roads were incredibly bumpy, and I experienced severe back pain that is still affecting me a week later. Furthermore, he failed to mention that the boat to the island was completely open, leaving us freezing during the ride. It is incredibly frustrating to pay a premium for a hotel only to be misled by the concierge. A concierge’s job is to listen to the guests' needs and constraints, especially regarding health and safety. If I had organized this myself, I would have saved money and avoided a week of physical pain!!! While the food and beds are good, I cannot recommend a hotel that fails so fundamentally in cleanliness and basic customer care. Management needs to seriously review how their concierge team listens to and advises guests.

I had a fantastic stay at the InterContinental Malta. The hotel is perfectly located in St. Julian’s. The facilities are excellent, the rooms are comfortable and the overall atmosphere is both elegant and relaxing. What truly made the stay special was the exceptional service in the Club Lounge. A special thank you to Mr Fajoui Mohammed, the Club Lounge Manager who was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. He really goes above and beyond to make guests feel valued and well taken care of. His hospitality made a big difference and added a very personal touch to the experience. The Club Lounge itself is wonderful with great food, drinks and a very pleasant setting to relax. Overall, a truly memorable stay and I would gladly return. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing time at this hotel. Great location, everything is accessible with walking distance and wide range of restaurants available nearby! The service is phenomenal, and would definitely recommend staying here! The amenities are closed during winter months, so keep that in mind. Otherwise, great stay overall!
