The location is hard to beat - Kintaikyo Bridge is literally a few minutes on foot. Our room faced the river so we could see the bridge just by looking out the window, which was a nice bonus. Dinner included some local Iwakuni sushi and fresh seafood that we really enjoyed. A solid base if you’re exploring the area.

I stayed here at the end of the year. I didn't make my reservation that far in advance, so I couldn't choose a room that was available at the end of the year, and this was the only one left, which seemed to have been renovated. There was no view of the Kintai Bridge from my room, but I was able to relax in the large bed. There was a shower in the room, but the large public bath was very comfortable and amazing. Dinner seemed to be a fugu course, but I think the local kaiseki course was a good choice. I thought Yamaguchi was famous for fugu, so I ordered that, but was it really worth the price? It was a fugu course. It was all tetchiri bones and only one piece of meat? I ended up feeling like the fugu restaurant closer to home might be better. The ohira (fish) was delicious, and the tetsuna (fish sashimi) was okay too. The breakfast buffet was also a bit disappointing, so don't expect too much. But the location was perfect for sightseeing at the Kintai Bridge, and it was nice to be able to easily see the bridge lit up at night. They also sell souvenirs, which is convenient. However, its main selling point is its proximity to Kintai Bridge, and I felt it was a little pricey otherwise. However, I think it's the best place for sightseeing at Kintai Bridge.
