Hello, I only stayed one night at this hotel, and unfortunately, I had to cut my stay short because I didn't enjoy it at all. I'll try to be understanding, as this is a developing island, and we can't have the same expectations as Bali, for example. 1) We booked because the place had good reviews. We wonder if the property has changed ownership in the meantime, because even though the rating remains very high, the recent reviews are very bad. I only paid attention to them once I arrived at the hotel and things didn't go well. 2) The service I tried to contact the hotel several times to inform them of our staggered arrival, but the phone line never worked. I arrived a day before my friend, who made the reservation, was supposed to arrive. I was able to enter without having my ID checked. I wasn't given any information; the person at reception didn't speak English and didn't try to give me any more details about the hotel rules. I had to go to him myself to ask for the Wi-Fi password. He took my phone and gave it back immediately. In my first room, water was leaking from the roof because the owner told me birds were eating it. The hole was quite large; I think it was fairly obvious, so they shouldn't have given me the room. The good thing was that I was able to change rooms. I still had to move all my belongings myself without any help. And it was while I was carrying the last piece of luggage that the owner asked me from a distance, without me being able to see him, if he could help me. Since I hadn't received any instructions, I had to ask myself how breakfast was served. I realized that there's only one person on duty each time, cleaning the rooms, cooking, and greeting guests. This meant I had to go find them to order breakfast while they were cleaning a room. Furthermore, I didn't like the breakfast at all. And the coffee was served with coffee grounds in the cup. Both rooms I stayed in were very dirty. The walls were grimy, the bathroom was full of limescale, the shower curtain was dirty, and the other room didn't even have a shower curtain. I found a dead cockroach in a corner. The pool wasn't being maintained. For my checkout, I had to tell them I'd ordered something and needed to pay. Luckily, I'm honest. 3) Location It's not their fault, but the hotel is located on a hill and far from the center; there aren't any restaurants nearby. However, there is a supermarket. Conclusion: The restaurant is certainly inexpensive, so you shouldn't expect anything luxurious, even though it's a 3-star hotel. However, there's room for improvement in the service. It can be enhanced; it's not mandatory to speak English, but they should make an effort to ensure we can understand each other. Sincerely

Our stay at Jona Bungalows was already a few weeks ago and only for a couple of nights, but thinking about it still makes me angry. During our stay, a valuable item of mine went missing and it was clearly due to the staff’s negligence (or worse). I had left my jewelry on the nightstand because I didn’t want to take it on the scooter or to the beach. When we returned to our room later that morning, we found that it had been cleaned. We hadn’t been informed that room service would be provided after just one night, and there were no signs to decline it, so we had left some of our personal belongings on the bed. Normally, you’d expect housekeeping to handle guests’ belongings with care. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case here. Our clothes were thrown onto the floor, and other personal items from the bed were left scattered around. My tablet and books were carelessly placed on the nightstand. After that, I realized part of my jewelry was missing. Something that had great personal value to me and that I had always taken good care of. The manager did come over afterward, but communication was difficult, and the staff member responsible denied doing anything wrong. We ended up spending hours searching every corner of the room and bed instead of exploring the island as planned (of course still had to pay the hotel’s scooter for the whole day). It’s hard not to feel suspicious, because jewelry doesn’t just disappear, especially when it seemed like the floor hadn’t even been swept. I did receive some compensation from the manager, but it wasn’t even half of the item’s actual value, not to mention the sentimental value. We also lost a lot of time and peace of mind over something that could have easily been avoided if the staff were properly trained and respected guests’ belongings. Overall, this experience completely ruined our stay. No matter how nice the facilities might be, I would strongly advise against staying here.

Breakfast is limited to just two items per room with no vegetarian choices available. The room lighting is very dim, often requiring a phone flashlight. Communication is difficult as English isn’t spoken, so Google Translate is needed. The cleanliness also doesn’t match what’s shown in the photos.
