Jupiter Marina Hotel - Couples & Spa

Excellent buffet breakfast and dinner — we were very happy with the food selection and quality. There was also some nice light entertainment in the evenings; the live musician in the upstairs bar over the weekend was particularly good. Overall, the cleanliness of the hotel was excellent and the staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and professional. We had no complaints regarding service. Onto the negative points. We paid extra for a Deluxe Double room with River View and Balcony. Disappointingly this turned out to be a poor choice since the river side is over a very noisy road, especially with loud motorbikes late at night. Despite requesting a quiet room, nobody told us this when booking, and we were also underneath the upstairs bar which didn’t help with the noise either. In hindsight, rooms on the other side of the hotel might be quieter as they are further from the main road. The pillows also weren’t comfortable and a poor selection of pillow choices. The spa is very nice — we used the pool and sauna. As hotel guests, we were not expecting to pay extra to use the spa facilities. It’s slightly disappointing that they charge per hour, but it does mean the facilities never feel overcrowded. The rooftop infinity pool is beautiful as well, although unfortunately it was too cold to use it during our February visit. If you turn right out of the hotel, it’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the beachfront and beach shops. Turning left takes you to the marina area, which is very pretty with boats and restaurants. One thing to be aware of is that there is another hotel from the same brand called Jupiter about a 10–15 minute walk away that is much closer to the beachfront. If you plan to take evening walks after dinner or want to be right by the beach, that sister hotel may be the more convenient option.

From February 18th to 22nd, 2026, my family and I stayed at the Hotel Jupiter Lisboa. We had room 218. On the evening of our arrival, we were shocked by the extremely noisy street. We and our 7-month-old baby couldn't sleep peacefully. The next morning, we drove north to Portugal early and returned late that evening. We had another incredibly noisy night because garbage bins were being emptied directly under our window at 3:00 AM. In addition, the air conditioning wasn't working. The following morning, I took a closer look at the balcony door: it was leaking and wouldn't close properly. I then sent an email to the hotel – without receiving a reply. I complained at the front desk and asked for a different room. Instead, after inquiring again (because it was already midday and we didn't want to spend the whole day at the hotel), they sent an employee to repair the door. We then left the hotel. The next morning, I took a closer look at the balcony door: it was leaking and wouldn't close properly. In the evening, after we returned, we discovered that the hotel employee had locked the window so it couldn't be opened. The air conditioning was still broken. After sending another email and receiving no reply, the front desk sent a maintenance worker after our third phone call. He informed us that the door was broken and would have to be forced open – and also that the air conditioning was broken on the entire floor. As a result, at 8 p.m., we had to move to room 418 on the fourth floor with our already asleep baby, along with our suitcases, crib, and everything else. That night, I emailed the hotel again, stating that I was not prepared to pay full price for such an unrefreshing vacation filled with hassle and stress, and requested a price reduction or a proposal from the hotel. Again, no response. I went downstairs and asked the front desk for an update. I was then referred to the Guest Relations Manager, who said she couldn't make any decisions and had to wait for the Director, who wasn't there that day. Disappointed and exhausted, we left our holiday, for which we had saved for a long time and had hoped for a pleasant stay with our baby. What we got were stressful, noisy, and hot nights, and, in our opinion, an inadequate handling of our complaints. We were supposed to receive a response from the hotel by email on February 23, 2026. Yesterday, there was still no reply, so I sent another email. Again, no response. I reminded them of the promised response on February 24, 2026 – again, no response. I then wrote directly to the Guest Relations Manager and informed her that I would share my experience online. She replied that we would not receive a partial refund. In our view, there was no sincere apology or any attempt at compensation. Furthermore, we were not informed that hotels in Portugal have a complaint book. Next time we'll know better. We won't be booking this hotel or any other hotel in this chain again, and based on our experience, we wouldn't recommend it. In our opinion, the management wasn't well-prepared for the situation. Some of the front desk staff seemed rude and unhelpful. What I would like to commend are the housekeeping staff and the breakfast service staff – all of them were friendly.
