In my personal opinion, this is a good hotel full of heritage and Nyonya cultural elements. Of course, its service can't compare to that of a five-star hotel.

You get what you paid The stay experience was below expectations due to several service and maintenance shortcomings. Upon check-in, we enquired about parking and were informed that we could park outside or behind the hotel block and that it was free. However, the next morning we found out that the parking bays outside are under the city council and payment is required. This information should have been clearly communicated upfront. On the second night, when we returned to the room, we noticed that bottled water had not been replenished. We went down to the front desk to request bottled water and were informed that the hotel had run out of bottled water and that we could use our own container to fill water from the hotel kitchen, which was quite surprising and unacceptable. When we provided feedback to the front desk the following morning, we were told that the bottled water was not replenished due to housekeeping’s carelessness and that it had been forgotten. Room maintenance also requires improvement. The TV only had one channel available with snowy reception, the bedside lamp was not working, one of the bathroom ceiling lights was fused, only two hangers were provided in the wardrobe, and the shower area tiles had brownish stains, giving an impression of poor upkeep. I stayed here for 3 nights and had a very disappointing experience. First, the room maintenance was extremely poor, we had to switch rooms three times due to various issues, which was very inconvenient and frustrating. On top of that we were told that the CCTV in common areas including the reception was not working. For a hotel, having non-functional CCTV and poorly maintained rooms is a serious concern. Guests expect a safe and comfortable environment, but our experience was far from that. I hope the management will take these issues seriously and improve their maintenance and security for future guests.
