Kata Sea Breeze Resort

We vacationed with three children of different ages in mid-December and were very pleased. We really liked the hotel! We arrived at night and were at reception from early morning. They showed us where to change clothes and where to lie down to rest, and at 12:00 PM we were invited to check in. A deposit of $50 per room is required upon check-in. The grounds are large and well-maintained. There are not many people on the grounds or at the pools, and there are always available sun loungers. No loud parties. Quiet, peaceful, and family-friendly! In the evenings, cartoons are shown on a projector. There is a table tennis table and a volleyball court. Breakfasts are average, but there is a selection. We went to the barbecue in the evening; they don't have it every day, but it was always delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. Cleaning was average, but every day. Water and consumables are replenished daily, and towels are changed daily. The children's playroom is open from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM; there are not many children playing, but there is plenty to do. There's a very nice girl who looks after the children on some days. She speaks English and some Russian. The gym is open 24/7. Air conditioning is available throughout. The rooms are spacious, and the plumbing is a bit tired, but everything works! The shower head was leaking, but they replaced it on one of the first days. We spent the first day fighting ants that had taken up residence in the room. The reception staff also helped us with a solution. If you're traveling with reasonable expectations and looking for a relaxing stay, this is a great hotel. We'd happily return!

Unfortunately, the nearby beaches are completely overcrowded. They're packed with umbrellas and sun loungers, all crammed together. We found it awful. So we drove 20 minutes to a more secluded beach, which charged an entrance fee. But it was worth it. We didn't find the hotel's location particularly appealing. The pool water was freezing cold because it barely gets any sun. Except in the pool bar area, but there are kids playing loudly there all day. Oh, and the hotel and the whole surrounding area are full of Russians ;-) Some things are only written in Russian because they're so geared towards them. Might be interesting for some.

Here now, and it's a nice place with not too bad of a location. The rooms are good but could do with a bit of decorate and some bits a little shabby. The staff all seem happy, but they are very noisy first thing in a morning, I assume when they are just arriving for work, our room backs on to the main corridor road along with many others and I'm always woken up by the shouting to each other. The breakfast isn't the best and the eggs are cooked and then piled up leaving them to go cold. In fact everything that should be hot is literally just warm. This could do with sorting out and is a simple fix. If the bar drinks and snacks were cheaper I'm sure more people would buy from them, that's my opinion as they don't seem to do many sales.
