Katathong Golf Resort & Spa

The accommodation is peaceful, and the nights are cool and comfortable.

Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our expectations. Not at all. After reading many good reviews, we decided to stay at this hotel for two nights. We were checked in quickly, and they said they'd upgraded our room. The room was large and spacious. It seemed nice. BUT, as it turned out, it was a family room and had a door to the next room. This door was completely soundproof! We could hear everything going on in there, from the TV playing, to conversations, and even people walking around the room. It was terrible. They asked us to move and offered two options: one with windows facing the reception, no balcony. It was like the room was inside the hotel. The second was a room in the corner by the pool, which had a persistent smell of mold. There were no other options. Then there's the restaurant: the food is not tasty, the shakes are not tasty. Everything takes a very long time. There are constant problems with the bill; you have to go to the counter and ask for it yourself, otherwise they don't bring it. There was some problem with paying by card. They brought pasta, but no cutlery; we had to go and get it ourselves. The tables weren't being wiped down or set. It was our last night, and at 5:50 a.m. we were woken up by someone knocking on our door! They opened it with their card, came in, said something, and then left. We woke up and couldn't fall asleep. We were exhausted and broken all day. There was a "do not disturb" sign on the door, but for some reason the hotel staff decided to wake us up without us asking. This shows a complete lack of respect for their guests. Upon checkout, they told us, "Sorry, we'll work to make sure this doesn't happen again." The hotel has one plus: beautiful grounds and a good golf course. The quality of the hotel itself and the staff leaves much to be desired. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they know golf. The hotel offers a golf cart ride around the grounds for 650 baht, but it's not worth it. There's a statue there that's about 10 years old and something remotely close to a waterfall. You can take a boat ride on the lake - it's free, but they give you vests that smell of sweat and are dirty.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent experience in Khatathong We had a fantastic time and truly enjoyed our stay and the golf experience in Khatathong. A special thank you to Khun Nam for the excellent organization. Since she is back, everything is very well managed, professional, and runs smoothly. You can really feel the positive difference in the overall experience. We would also like to thank Samran for the great support throughout our stay. The Samui Warriors highly appreciate the hospitality and organization and are happy to recommend this place. We are already looking forward to coming back again – next time with a bit more time and less rush. Highly recommended!
