Khanom Golden Beach Hotel

We originally booked this hotel for a week, then extended for another week, and then again for a third. In the end we stayed three weeks as a couple, which probably says a lot already. The location is beautiful. The hotel sits literally on the beach. You cannot really get closer to the sea than this. The beach itself is enormous and mostly empty. Even during high season it never felt crowded. There is a bit of a spike during weekends, but most of the time it feels like you have the whole beach to yourself. You can walk for ages, swim easily, play in the waves, or just sit and watch them roll in. The hotel has a very good breakfast. There is a lot of variety and pretty much everything you would expect and more. There is also a nice pool and, downstairs, a proper gym. Not one of those token hotel gyms with two machines, but something that feels closer to a real gym people would actually subscribe to. Around the hotel there is a bar and a restaurant. If you walk or ride a little further, you find another really nice restaurant, a few convenience stores, and a coffee shop. And if you grab a scooter, the town crossroads is about five minutes away. There you have everything: restaurants, two 7-Elevens, a Lotus’s store, pharmacy, and so on. So the place feels peaceful but not isolated. The hotel itself is a bit old, but clearly very well maintained. Everything is remarkably clean. In three weeks I did not see a single insect in the room. The staff takes good care of the place. There is room service, the reception is open 24 hours, and everyone is attentive. The rooms have everything you need. Hairdryer, fridge, kettle, daily water, coffee sticks, toiletries. There is a small desk area if you want to work or read, and a little lounge corner. The balcony with sea view is fantastic. Close enough that you can hear the waves all the time. Beds are comfortable, towels are plentiful, everything works. And the price is very good for what you get. Hard to beat. There are two downsides worth mentioning. The first one is the air conditioning. It is very old. It works, which is impressive, but it is extremely loud. At night you basically choose between running the aircon or listening to the waves. The unit makes quite a bit of noise. I got used to it and could sleep with it, but it might bother some people. The second downside is drinking water. There is no proper refill option at the hotel. You get a couple of small bottles in the room each day, but if you drink a lot of water you will quickly run out and end up buying more. In theory you could refill during breakfast, but it is awkward, far from the rooms, and once breakfast closes that option disappears. It would be great if they simply added a water refill station somewhere. Still, for the location, the beach, the facilities, and the price, we ended up staying three weeks. That probably tells the story better than anything else.

The location was just right in front of the beach so I and my family could enjoy the beach time easily. The swimming pool was nice with sea view panorama plus kids swimming pool. All staff were nice and friendly. Food at the restaurant was delicious and fancy. I enjoyed several kind of food. The breakfast was nice with good nutrition and many kind of food. This is a kids friendly place with play ground and sup board activity. I and my family had a great time here and will be back next time for sure.
