Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok

Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok offers a wonderful dining experience with a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. The interior design is modern and elegant, creating a comfortable yet upscale vibe. The food is beautifully presented, flavorful, and made with quality ingredients. Great service and a perfect spot for brunch, lunch, or a casual yet refined meal in the city.

I just finished a 3-night stay here and I am very satisfied. All the staff I encountered were helpful and kind. I booked a 1-bedroom serviced residence because I wanted a washing machine for the end of my trip. The room was fully furnished like a small apartment. I noted that the finishings and furnishings were well-appointed, as expected from a hotel of this level. The breakfast buffet is probably the best I have had in a long time. As a vegan, I appreciated that their dishes were labelled and that they had vegan offerings. I was especially excited every morning for the shelves filled with cold-pressed juices (and non-dairy milks)! The breakfast staff is the most efficient service staff I have ever encountered, in any establishment! They refilled my water and took away empty plates in the bat of an eye, and brought any extras ordered in a very timely manner. It was honestly amazing. Housekeeping was also so efficient. A few times, I had to request extra water and the bottles were brought quickly. Cleanliness in any hotel is no. 1 for me and my room and bathroom were impeccable. The hotel shuttle to and from BTS Chitlom station is a great perk. Although not a far walk at all, after a long day of walking around, it was nice to get picked up at the station. As a note, it is a very busy, bustling hotel. There is lounge music playing on speakers in the hallways, the lobby has club/lounge music all day (whatever time I was at the lobby they had the music on). There can also be some wait for the elevators. So if you are after a tranquil, peaceful hotel atmosphere, this is not the place. But this does not detract from my overall opinion of Kimpton Maa-Lai because this is my personal taste to prefer a tranquil hotel. Based on my experience with the hotel, I would stay here again even if only for the great room I had with a view of the city + partial view of the US Embassy grounds. A minus point for me is that I had brought the wrong phone charger cord. At my previous hotel (also 5 stars), guest relations lent me a charger with a deposit fee. At Kimpton Maa-Lai, they asked me to leave my phone at concierge for charging. If I were just a restaurant / guest, I would understand. But as a hotel guest, I found it rather inconvenient to go down from the 27th floor and leave my phone with concierge when I needed it to monitor a delivery too. Since the hotel already provides a list of “in case you forgot” items which includes a hair straightener, you might want to consider adding a phone charger to this list. Or have a wireless charger in the rooms. (The hotel is part of the Sindhorn complex and it shares a common park area with Kempinski hotel and residences. I enjoyed spending time at the park, walking around and just sitting to be surrounded by greenery. It is also convenient to have Vela in the same complex which has a Villa supermarket and food establishments.)

Checked in on New Years Day 2026 and this hotel did not disappoint - Honestly, we've been privileged to travel a lot and stay at a bunch of nice hotels and this was one of our favorite stays we've ever had. The staff is extremely attentive, the hotel is beautiful, and the people watching is next level (young stylish crowd). We were upgraded to a suite that is nicer than our house with a cool view of the US Embassy. The breakfast at Stock Room is the most impressive breakfast spread we've ever seen and the staff there almost appear out of nowhere the minute you need anything. Great neighborhood with easy walks to excellent restaurants and shopping. Hope we can go back one day!
