Over 30 years ago, I was a frequent guest at the Shangri-La Kowloon for business. Since then, I’ve stayed at many other hotels in Hong Kong, assuming this property might feel too dated. However, I returned this year for the New Year holidays and was absolutely delighted. The location is unbeatable. We stayed in a Harbor View room on the top floor, and the vista was simply spectacular. While the room decor isn't "ultra-modern," it is impeccably well-maintained, quiet, and the bed was large and comfortable. The service truly stands out—the staff is incredibly attentive. We had Horizon Club access, which offered a great selection. Just a small note: because it was the holiday season, the club was quite busy, leading to some wait times for breakfast and evening cocktails. A highlights was our New Year's Eve dinner at Angelini. We were initially skeptical about Italian fine dining in Hong Kong, but the meal was fantastic—very high quality, though it does come with a corresponding price tag. I will definitely be booking the Shangri-La Kowloon again for my next trip to Hong Kong!
