My experience at the Krista Boutique Hotel in Palermo was extremely negative and dangerous from a health standpoint. When making the reservation, I expressly informed them that my wife has celiac disease, which means she must consume strictly gluten-free foods prepared according to protocols that prevent cross-contamination. This information was reiterated twice to the bar staff during breakfast. Despite this, they served her food contaminated with gluten. The result was immediate: my wife presented symptoms consistent with a foodborne illness (severe gastrointestinal distress, vomiting, diarrhea, and a skin rash). The most worrying aspect was not only the initial error but also the staff's complete lack of knowledge about celiac disease. No one at the bar or buffet seemed to understand what cross-contamination is or what basic precautions should be taken when serving a person with this condition. This demonstrates a serious lack of training in food safety. To make matters worse: • The hotel refused to take responsibility for what happened. The bar/buffet also refused to take any responsibility. No one offered a solution or showed any understanding of the potential harm this type of negligence can cause to a person with celiac disease. And to make matters worse, the hotel did not have a complaints book available for guests, which is mandatory under consumer protection regulations. These kinds of situations are not simply a service error: they put people's health at risk. An establishment that offers breakfast and serves the public should, at a minimum, have basic protocols for food allergies and celiac disease. Unfortunately, my experience was one of negligence, lack of training, and a complete absence of responsibility in the face of a serious health problem. I would not recommend this hotel to people with celiac disease or anyone with allergies or food restrictions, as they clearly lack the knowledge and protocols necessary to handle these cases safely.

I have a medical condition; I'm a diagnosed celiac. I made this clear in the reservation. I also told the waiter before ordering breakfast. And yet, they still served me food containing gluten. Now I have to return to Rosario with vomiting, diarrhea, and a skin rash. I asked for a complaints book, but they didn't have one. The hotel is beautiful, but the fact that they didn't take my condition into account, despite me specifying it both times, is unacceptable. That's why I don't recommend it.
