Kusatsu Now Resort Hotel

I booked a room with a terrace open-air bath the day before. The hotel was spacious and had a resort hotel-like atmosphere, allowing me to relax. The terrace open-air bath in my room was extremely luxurious, as I could enjoy the hot spring whenever I wanted. The large public bath and open-air bath were also spacious and open, allowing me to fully enjoy Kusatsu's hot springs. The dinner buffet seemed a little lacking in variety, but there was an all-you-can-eat crab option and a make-your-own ramen corner, so I was able to enjoy my meal. One thing that bothered me was that the lighting in the room was a little dim. However, the staff were very polite and the hotel was clean, so overall I was very satisfied with my stay. I would definitely stay here again if I come to Kusatsu.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend this place for families with children, and I wouldn't recommend it for those who want to enjoy a casual meal while enjoying conversation. It seemed more suited to those who enjoy listening to loud piano music while dining. ▫️Dinner I stayed here with my husband and our 5-month-old baby. Dinner was a buffet, and I appreciated being seated in a semi-private room, but there was a piano right next to us, and the live music was so loud that I couldn't even hear my husband's conversation. Since they knew we were with a baby, I would have appreciated a little more consideration in seating arrangement and volume. It was a shame, as the partitioned seating seemed like it would have allowed us to dine without worrying too much about those around us. They accommodated our request to change seats, but the foam on my beer I ordered had disappeared and was served as is. It's a small detail, but it bothered me a little. It seemed like many of the staff were still in training. The food was all-you-can-eat crab, and the crab porridge, crab pasta, gratin, and Joshu beef were delicious. However, the sushi, beef stew, and dessert were disappointing. The difference between the dishes was quite noticeable. On top of that, the sushi staff seemed very unmotivated. When the sushi toppings fell off while being placed on the rice from the machine, they didn't even bother to fix them and just served them as they were. The pieces were all different sizes, and honestly, the taste wasn't great. ▫️Bath The shower pressure in the private open-air bath was too weak even at full pressure. The large public bath was fine. The bath was also spacious and nice. However, there wasn't much of a sulfur smell, which was disappointing, as I've enjoyed the smell at other hotels I've stayed in. ▫️Room It's old, but it's spacious and has tatami mats, which is nice. You can hear the surrounding noises very well, and if someone rings a doorbell nearby, you can hear it. Also, it was the first time I'd been served any tea or snacks. I've never experienced this in any other hotel before, so I was surprised. You had to lay out your own futon. ▫️Service I appreciated the diaper trash can they provided. ▫️Overall Review If you're paying a fair price for this kind of service, you'd be better off staying at another hotel in Kusatsu.

I only had the breakfast buffet. The food was delicious. I recommend the smoothies and omelets.
