The hotel is located a bit outside the city. This is the only potential drawback if you want to explore the city center. Otherwise, it's a very nice property with large, clean rooms, small gardens, and a lovely large outdoor pool (not usable in winter, of course). I felt very comfortable and highly recommend the hotel.

The hotel is great, beautiful, with spacious rooms, very clean, and incredibly friendly staff. Keep in mind that it's located away from the main tourist areas, and you'll need to pay for a shuttle service whenever you want to go anywhere!

This was not our first encounter with Morocco. By now we understand rather well how the delicate clockwork of the local tourist ecosystem tends to function. For precisely that reason, we politely asked our driver — with all the courtesy and diplomatic finesse we could muster — not to take us to any shops along the way. To make matters perfectly clear, we even assured him that honouring this modest request would be handsomely rewarded. And yet, it appears that the gravitational pull of argan oil and “authentic Berber handicrafts” is stronger than any financial incentive known to man. On our way back to Marrakech, however, our driver surprised us with what can only be described as an unexpected philosophical reflection. With a certain empathy, he remarked that he genuinely did not understand how tourists manage to endure being treated like walking ATMs and occasionally relieved of their funds at every possible opportunity. We must confess — we were rather taken aback. Naturally, the question arose: what exactly was he leading up to? It soon transpired that he had a friend — the owner of a small hotel just beyond the administrative borders of Marrakech. A place, he assured us, where life proceeds at a gentler rhythm: away from the glorious chaos of the Medina, with reliable Wi-Fi, a handsome swimming pool, and — most astonishingly — alcohol served even during Ramadan. Curiosity prevailed. We went to visit the property and were genuinely impressed. The hotel is new, clean, carefully maintained and pleasantly intimate. The rooms are comfortable, and each apartment enjoys a small private garden — a charming touch that gives the whole place a sense of calm and privacy. Mr Arnaud Boukhers, who kindly showed us around the complex, proved to be a remarkably courteous and gracious gentleman. Although we ultimately chose a different place to stay, La Maison Des Oliviers left a very favourable impression on us — which is precisely why we feel it deserves a warm and sincere recommendation.
