Trying to hard to be out of its league. Not what I thought a 5 star hotel would be like. Maybe 3 stars?

Good place for conference meeting

We organized our son's pre-wedding celebrations in Jayanagar on 27 December 2025, reserving 23 rooms at LaMarvella for guests arriving the preceding evening. During our stay, we observed the following: (1) Only one room key was provided by default; additional keys were supplied upon request. Room keys frequently became demagnetized if placed near mobile phones, necessitating repeated visits to the reception for reactivation. Additionally, as the room key must be inserted in a slot to activate all devices, there is a risk of being locked out when you step out. (2) Guest rooms featured electronic consoles instead of traditional mechanical light switches, which caused confusion among those unfamiliar with such systems. (3) Breakfast was not included in our package and had to be purchased separately at Rs. 999 per person for all guests, including children aged three to ten years, who were charged the same rate. (4) The hotel’s strict check-in/check-out policy at 12 noon required payment for an extra half-day to facilitate guests changing to travel clothes post celebrations, as flexibility such as a 24-hour checkout from time of check-in—offered by some hotels—was not available. (5) A fee of Rs. 1,000 per towel was charged for four towels reported missing across the 23 rooms. (6) The front desk staff demonstrated professionalism and courtesy during our stay. Based on my experience, I would give 3 out of five stars and recommend others to shop around for better star hotels to stay for almost 8K per room per day.
