La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Charlotte Airport South

The rooms are in the perfect location for use of the airport. The neighborhood seemed safe and it was easy to get to other places. The service was professional, nothing special. Each time I visited the lobby the staff was seated close by the desk often seemed preoccupied but still professional. The lobby was organized well, the business services were supplemented by assistance from the staff so there are no complaints there. The breakfast offerring were a bit less than expected but it allowed us to locate a superb spot, Pressley's, the coffee at the hotel was hot. The hotel would benefit from a nice cleanse inside and out. The exterior needs attention in a good pressure washing and the grounds need to be maintained. As a visionary this could be an adorable place but there is work to be done. The elevator, halls, and interior needs serious attention and the No Smoking policy should be enforced to stop the smell of smoking throughout the hallways. The elevator seemed a bit dangerous not being able to detect humans in the doorway is a bit scary. The rooms or my room. A bit small for a suite but the design was good. This seemed like an older hotel but the charm remains. The caroet needs much attention and the bathroom needs a remodel. Painting the mat and chrome white doesn't remove rust and deter guests like me from pulling things back to ensure cleanliness. This was affordable price but left open at the cost of the brand's reputation. I would love to see this location after some improvements. The beds linen was clean as we're the towels. This stay served our purposes.

My experience really wasn’t as bad as some of these other recent reviews. I stayed for three nights originally unplanned. The staff were helpful and friendly, I did not have any problems. The room was clean and comfortable enough for the cost. The odor in parts of the hotel is not pleasant at all. It smells like something is being used trying to cover another smell, and it is extremely foul and overwhelmingly strong in the elevator and hallways. The condition of the hallways had me very nervous about what the inside of the room was going to look like. It is in a state of neglect and literally falling apart. Smells terrible and stains everywhere. It’s very apparent that it has been in a state of disarray for quite some time. The grounds and parking lot are very dirty and not taken care of. Bad first impression. Looks nothing like the pictures. I did not see any bugs in my room or anywhere else. The in room coffee maker was appreciated too. This is not what I would call a good place to stay by any means due to the level of neglect and horrible smell, but it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, and the price was extremely reasonable.

Found this place online (Tivago) to go for our anniversary, we didn't want to splurge on a room as we were doing other things in town (it's our 1st time here we live 2 1/2 hrs away). The pictures looked nice and it was rated good (should of looked on Google 1st!) Even tho we weren't spending much time in the room we could hear others open/close their doors, kids yelling and screaming late/early. The doors have scratches on them like all of them, carpet it tore up and has missing pieces throughout and its dirty looking, chips in the paint on the wall, holes in the blackout curtains, the entire place smells, microwave is outdated, the fridge was super tiny, bath looked like it needed to be cleaned so we put a small towel in there to stand on. The only positive out of this place is the pillows and bed were actually sort of comfortable and we didn't have any bug issues (roaches or bedbugs). These rooms are NOT worth what they charge for them, they need to lower prices like other motels I seen while looking that were $50/60 night as these rooms in person look like the rooms those places posted. Also I don't think there is wifi if it is no one told us or gave us a password.
